Retired Ambitions

Life rarely offers second chances. The oldest among us know this best. Yet when a group of retirees becomes stranded in the woods during what should have been an uneventful outing, they find themselves crossing paths with strange fae who can take on the faces of their pasts and offer them a chance to relive moments of their histories – and, perhaps, to make different choices this time. Retired Ambitions is a heartfelt LARP for 5 to 12 participants. Most players will portray retirees lost in a literal and metaphorical forest. The remainder will portray fae who use “horde LARP” mechanics to change constantly between characters from the retirees’ pasts.

Content Warnings: Retired Ambitions involves Retiree characters dwelling on past mistakes and current insecurities, though the ultimate goal of the LARP is to face both and to find a way forward. All Retiree characters have outlived at least one of their close connections; some characters have lost people in their lives due to war, accidents, illness, or sudden death. Retired Ambitions does not contain content related to sexual assault, real-world politics, or real-world bigotry. Players of both Retirees and Fae may select the gender of their characters.

Age Range: Any players 16+ are welcome.

Late Joins: Players can be accepted up to 20 minutes after the game starts; however, late-joining players will be cast by the GM as either Retirees or Fae (rather than making that selection themselves). Please see the GM for instructions and mechanics if joining late.
